Hummingbird banding at Wye Marsh

A very special day for me was joining a couple of bander's from the U.S up here to do some hummingbird banding at a workshop along with a couple of Canadian bander's. Got 3 birds the one day. And it was incredible. So tiny, such steady hands. You think they are tiny at your feeders. They are incredibly small in your hand and the saying as light as a feather. Well that is how much a hummingbird ways. Light as a feather. I have now released and held about a half a dozen or more hummers, and even listened to their heartbeat which is so totally incredible.
